As I understand it, when using the PI Buffer Subsystem on an interface node with the OPC interface, Exception Deviation AND Compression Deviation are done on the interface...rather than just the Exception Deviation as would normally be the case with the PIBufSS not enabled.
Assuming that is correct, then is it necessary (or should I say, does it add value) to setup any Exception Deviation settings for the tag? Is it just as efficient to simply leave Exception Deviation disabled since the interface has to read the data anyway and process it? In other words, just allow the Compression Deviation settings to dictate what is sent to the server.
Thanks.
