We have some ACE calculations running on our production server and aproximately ever week on friday the calculations stop. However, the scheduler or services never stop nor do they produce any failure or event log.
Might this be related to the VB.net code or an inherent problem with ACE?

I want to show the plots of average pressure per day of a whole year starting 2012 up to present. How can I show the graphs of 2012 and 2013 together with 2014 which is continuously updating? Do you think this is possible? And is it possible to create and show the lower and upper limits? How can I do this? Kindly refer to the attached file for you to have a better understanding about my question.

I have used a service account which has the correct identity mapped and the crawler service says its working(doubtful)
Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?

New to PI
Our programmers are helping us move our data sheets from Process view to the PI system and they want me to create a tag based on a similar formula they use on the other side.
WHEN SUM(TAG1) + SUM(TAG2) = 0 THEN 0
WHEN SUM(TAG2) >= 0 THEN 1
ELSE 2
I have created a few other calculation tags for them but nothing this complicated. I am lost as to how to even start this one.
Any thoughts?
Hi, I've done a few searches but they may be too specific or my terminology might not be correct. Anyway, I'm trying to measure how much was consumed from a tank but there is no flow in or out tag, only level. The tank drops steadily over the course of a day but on occasion, there are small increases in level. Is there any way to just measure the drop in level, not the increases? This is something that I'll have to check every day midnight to midnight so I'm trying to get an easy way to see this with some programming.
This maybe be a very silly question, so pardon my ignorance... I am attempting to configure an existing PI graphic while away from any PI server. I would like to be able to create new symbols/ objects/ multi-states and associate a tag to them. I have a list of tag names but no access to the server they will be on. Is there anyway to get PB to accept/ save the PI Tag name without verifying that it exists on any server? Some type of off-line mode possibly? Any suggestions appreciated.

I've encountered the InstallThread Error 1603 while trying to install PI Coresight 2014 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard SP1.
First time I've run the Setup.exe the PI Coresight installed properly, however for wrong reasons I uninstalled it (run Uninstall, cleaned up registry, deleted the .PIPC\Coresight folder, rebooted the server etc) .
The subsequent re-installations attempts have failed with InstallThread Error 1603 (see below).
Any ideas what could be the cause of this error and the installation ending prematurely ? Any ideas greatly appreciated.

I'm using the ExpressionSummaries function to calculate total values for an expression.
The problem is that I'm using the same arguments (start time, end time, expression, etc) for this fuction for each call, but it returns different values when it is called on different time (e.g. value returned by the fuction yesterday is differ from the value returned today).
What could be the reason?

Good morning PI users!
I've recently been trying to include more and more information from our SQL database into our Process displays (i.e. fault summation and current active step). However, I'm at an impasse trying to include SQL information into a trend along with other tags. For instance, using the data below as an example I have a value that is tied to an ODBC Data Set which performs a query to pull the Count(Fault 2) messages since midnight. So it correctly shows 3 as the value of faults.

Fault 2 10:30 AM
Fault 9 10:02 AM

However, in order to see the relationship between a specific fault message and the temperature set as a PI tag, I would like to have them both on the same trend to be able to see how they progressed throughout the night. When I graph the data set, it stays at a constant 3 [instead of 0 from midnight to 8:30AM, 1 from 8:30AM to 9:05AM, and so on]. Is there an efficient way to do this through VBA? I've tried Value.GetValue and putting it into a ListBox but it only compiles information as I have the display open.
Any advice or directional guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I have been trying to create some databases within PI Builder for Excel. I can create elements and retrieve attributes I enter in PI System Explorer, but when I try to publish them from Excel, I get errors every time.
Object reference not set to instance of an object. I cannot figure out why. It retrieves just fine and is identical to every tutorial and video instruction I have seen. I can't seem to trace it.

I would like to know how to check the buffer subsystem. Buffer is correctly configured and I thought that stopping snapshots and archive services I would be able to check that the buffer was filled using piartool -bfs, but this is not working when stopping services.
I understand that if I stop both services, snapshot and archive events won't be generated. But Where are they accumulating? How can I check it?

I have created a PI AF Model using Templates and a group of tags in PI that are configured to capture data on those tags based on an event. This is working fine most of the time, occasionally though, the tags that are triggered to capture data have a time-stamp that is .002ms difference. This is causing a problem when using PI SQL Commander to retrieve the data as a report from the AF Database. about 2 - 3 transactions per day are out of order.
Is there any way to ensure that the data captured is in line?
